youth mayoral debate

In partnership with field agencies at Columbia University School of Social Work, Social Work Votes will be coordinating a youth mayoral debate in anticipation of the general election in November. Join the debate team to learn updates on the debate and help provide a voice to some of the younger New Yorkers.

candidate quiz and data entry

With some City Council races having over 10 candidates running, it can become difficult to do accurate research to find the candidate that aligns with your values. Similar to a Buzzfeed quiz, we plan to create a easy way for anyone to learn which candidate most aligns with their view. Join this team to help input data into our quiz system and provide accurate information on each candidate in New York City elections.

social media and graphics

A large part about Social Work Votes is our commitment to providing accurate, accessible information about a wide variety of subjects within voting rights and suppression. Join the social media team to help create graphics and materials that will go to field agencies, community organizations, and on our social media.

political education

There are many facets of the election in NYC that can be very confusing. As we continue to build our knowledge at Social Work Votes, we can provide more accurate, understandable information. Some info needed include:

  • Explaining NYC elected official positions

  • Finding accurate registration, mail-in ballot, and polling locations

  • Ranked Choice Voting

Join the team working to building this information knowledge and be a central hub for all initiatives happening at Social Work Votes.
